This course provides Air Traffic Controllers at Air Base No. 4 with a streamlined understanding of Safety Management System (SMS) principles. Focused on the unique operational environment of Lajes, the curriculum covers the four pillars of SMS: Policy, Risk Management, Assurance, and Promotion.
Participants will learn to identify hazards specific to North Atlantic operations, apply "Just Culture" in the military tower, and align with ICAO and NATO standards. The goal is to enhance operational readiness and flight safety through proactive risk mitigation and effective reporting.
